John Walsh, Fredericksburg, Virginia
1982 XS 650 Special FOR SALE

The engine was completely rebuilt from the crank up. Cases, side covers, cylinder and head are powder coated. Frame was stripped, brackets removed, and powder coated. John installed my swing arm bushings and steering head bearings installed. He had this to say about bushings and bearings, "In 30 plus years, I have never driven a Yamaha 650 that is this tight and steady". (Log that in mind for your project). John used Progressive fork springs and shocks, Mikuni 34 round slides, MegaCycle cam and HD valve springs/retainers and "a little porting by yours truly" and to sound it all off, a set of Omar Hooligan Pipes. Many parts were chromed. John did all the work except the paint and chroming. He has the bike for sale with less than 200 miles (he is starting another tracker project) (jp1walsh@adelphia.net)
